Vestal School Foundation

About our organization

The Vestal School Foundation’s board of directors is composed of community volunteers with a strong desire to see our children thrive. The Foundation’s mission is “to enrich and enhance education in the Vestal public schools by providing private funding and stimulating community support for innovative and challenging programs.”

Although our school district’s budget may seem large, there is little, if any, room for discretionary spending. State-mandated expenses, exponential increases in staff health care costs, and general inflation make it difficult for administrators to find even a few extra dollars to fund innovative projects or special training. Since 1995, the Foundation has given approximately $300,000 to support the “extras” our students need to flourish and succeed.

Excepting modest administrative expenses, all the money we raise goes directly to Vestal schools through our grant program. We are a 503-C classified charitable organization.
